Debating Team - MEPS

On short notice, our Meps debate team was tasked with putting together a team to represent the school at the Junior Leadership Capricorn District Competition.

This was a tall order, considering that we are in the middle of a school holiday. Nevertheless, Mrs. Kidd was given the assignment.

And representing MEPS and going through to the Provinicial Competiition

Statement from the Office of Capricorn District Commissioner

POLOKWANE:Friday 2023-07-07 at about 09:00 different police stations of Capricorn district embarked in a successful junior district commissioner's audition or competition at Flora Park comprehensive high school.

The competition of junior commissioners is one of most competition that take learners from different schools and introduced them to a Saps management experience or responsibilities,The learners were debating under the motion of "Substances abuse,teenage pregnancy and human trafficking as the high rate in South Africa amongst youth"(re-introduced corporal punishment in school and in house hold)

The competition was supported by South African Council for English Education from Polokwane branch who provided the judges.The learners were given a time to present their points in negative or positive ways,They were divided into different categories groups as parents,teachers,police,social workers and business owners.

The judges keep on scratching their heads in taking decisions but realized that we need to have a winners at the at end of the day. Our junior district commissioner's top five results was as follows;1 junior district commissioner:Lesego Galane of Seshego Saps2 junior Deputy district Commissioner:vispol-Lethabo Manabela of Mankweng saps3 junior section commander:

The office of district represented by Captain Ramoshaba welcomed the junior district commissioner and his commander,He further thanked the organizing team that was led by Warrant officer Maloba for hard work they have done and appreciated the office of the Provincial Communication represented by Seargent Lekota for branding.
